Bass fish buckle in Silver Large mouth, small mouth and striper
The difference between the Large mouth, small mouth, and stripped bass is very small without color to make the identification. This carving was based on the Largemouth and the striper. Both very popular game fish. I have fished for both. Some of the best Stripper fishing in the county is up around Buzzards Bay. Some huge 40 + pounders come out of those waters on a regular basis. However, it's not easy to land a keeper. Largemouth bass are moderately large, robust fish that frequently grow to weigh five pounds (2.3 kg) or more in the northcentral Great Plains. We get some big ones here in Florida too. They are deeper bodied than the similar looking smallmouth bass. Their lower jawbone extends to or beyond the rear margin of the eye. Largemouth bass do indeed have a large mouth.
