Sea Trout in Silver

Seatrout are dark gray or green above, with silvery to white shading below; numerous distinct round black spots on back, extending to the dorsal fins and tail; black margin on posterior of tail; no barbels; no scales on the soft dorsal fin; one or two prominent canine teeth usually present at tip of upper jaw. East Central Florida is home to the largest spotted sea trout in the world. After entanglement netting was constitutionally banned in Florida, sea trout rebounded back to healthy numbers and sizes that we haven't seen since the early 1980's. Sea trout are an aggressive fish that will strike anything from topwater artificials, spoons, jigs, live bait and various fly patterns.
