Seatrout are dark gray or green above, with silvery to white shading below; numerous distinct round black spots on back, extending to the dorsal fins and tail; black margin on posterior of tail; no barbels; no scales on the soft dorsal fin; one or two prominent canine teeth usually present at tip of upper jaw. East Central Florida is home to the largest spotted sea trout in the world. After entanglement netting was constitutionally banned in Florida, seatrout rebounded back to healthy numbers and sizes that we haven't seen since the early 1980's. Seatrout are an aggressive fish that will strike anything from topwater artificials, spoons, jigs, live bait and various fly patterns.
This belt buckle is from a wax model of a Sea Trout Fish that I hand carved and cast in Sterling Silver. This buckle is available in a bright high polish or a brushed satin polish. Buckle fits on a 1.25 inch belt. All buckles are signed and numbered to ensure authenticity.
