Original Works Available by Peter Senesac

I have not always been a painter but I have always been intrigued by the magic of paint. I am fascinated by the language of line, shape and color and how it helps me express my reaction to the effect of light and shadows on a place in time.     The paintings become a depiction of mood, atmosphere and an emotional response to the composition. Energetic marks and application of paint and interesting patterns make compelling paintings of any subject.      I love being in front of a scene, pushing paint around, expressing what excites my eyes and spirit. Compositions can evolve from observations of nature or spontaneous application of paint and building on the flow of ideas that follow.      Studio paintings require more planning. They are based on my sketches and reference photos. I use acrylics, oils, or patina on copper and bronze. Paint is applied to canvas, oil paper, or prepared wood panels with brushes, palette knives, improvised tools and sometimes bare hands. I use techniques from thin washes, glazes to spattering and thick impasto. Finished paintings are protected with varnish.
