The common snook is characterized by a sleek body, a flattened head, with jutting lower jaw. True to the alias as "lineside," a dark horizontal stripe runs the entire length of the fish. The snook is typically dark to black along his upper half, fading to silver or white on the bottom with fins that have a yellow tint. These fish are found around structures along the flats, inlets, passes and mangroves, and in the summer, in the surf often quite near the beach.
This is a heavy, solid sterling buckle. I hand carved the wax model for this snook buckle to create this unique and anatomically correct design.
