This particular carving was done using a Snake river Cut throat and rainbow as a model. The snake river cut throat is a pretty rare fish but, with out color, all the trout species look very much the same. The Rainbow is probably the most common and sought after of them all. This is the smallest of the buckles and fits on a 1.25 inch wide belt.
The silver buckles naturally change and develop a dark patina on the top and in the recesses and stay silver on the sides giving them a natural fish coloration.
